I.A.T.S.E., LOCAL NO. 39 HIRING HALL RULES AND REGULATIONS
GOVERNING REFERRAL OF EMPLOYEES
January 2019
I. Hours of Experience.
An employee's initial placement in a particular classification is based upon his or her total "hours of experience" or "time in the industry". Hours of experience are defined as all hours worked by an employee in the exhibition, stage and motion picture industries.
Each employee's hours of experience are to be submitted to and verified by the Executive Board from payroll records provided to the Hiring Hall by the employee. It shall be the employee's responsibility to furnish sufficient proof of all claimed hours.
II. Referral Agreement.
To be eligible to be referred by the Hiring Hall for employment, each employee must sign a Referral Agreement with the Hiring Hall. The Referral Agreement provides for payment of a reasonable fee, established by the Hiring Hall, to cover the Hiring Hall's referral costs and administrative and collective bargaining expenses.
To be eligible for referrals each employee must have an accurate, up to date and completed I-9 form, W-4 form and mailing address.
It shall be the responsibility of every individual registered for referrals with the Hiring Hall to have an up-to-date telephone and/or beeper number on file at all times.
III. Dress Code.
All referrals are required to be neat and well-groomed. All shirts must have sleeves, be in a non-mutilated condition and must not carry offensive phrases and/or graphics. Bermuda shorts are permissible provided the employer permits them. Cut-offs nor gym shorts are allowed.
